Structure, Focus, and Executive Function Support for Student-Athletes

We have created a plan to help your child feel confident in school again.

If you haven't received a formal diagnosis, you may be wondering if your child could be struggling with ADHD? Maybe your child always struggled to pull it all together independently and stay calm in the process?

If this resonates with you, let's take a breath and understand...

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects concentration and overall decision-making. ADHD brains function on low norepinephrine and dopamine, which in return makes it challenging for the brain to regulate attention, emotion, and behavior. The lack of regulation in these areas can then be physically observed through impulsive behavior, restlessness, skewed perception of time, hyperactivity, along with poor decision making.

How does it affect my child?

Children with ADHD are naturally creative usually demonstrate a higher EQ and IQ levels. These children are the ones that question everything, talk back, have teenage tantrums, are ridiculously gifted at the ONE thing (athletics, robotics, musicm, etc.). Without proper coaching, most of these kids fall through the system with bad grades, labeled lazy, and usually emotional and generally hard on themselves. They have the talent, but not the right system to manage it.

02

Individualized Support:

Each student's needs are unique, and ADHD academic intervention can provide one-on-one or small group support to ensure that the student's specific needs are addressed effectively. This personalized attention allows for a more targeted approach to improving academic performance.

Skill Development:

CarpeDiem Academics can work with students to develop essential skills such as executive function skills, impulse control, and self-regulation. These skills are crucial for academic success and are often areas of difficulty for students with ADHD. Sports and academic attitudes can change drastically when they are back in control.
